Life gets crazy sometimes...

Well I’m a day late with getting my blog post up for you all. Yesterday I was working to get A Midnight Meeting posted up to Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Kobo Books for their eReaders. I am happy to say that the story went live for the Amazon Kindle and the Nook for Barnes & Noble today. Once again it would seem the website for Kobo is having issues.

My husband and I were supposed to be in Graham this last Saturday for the Tacoma Highland Games but with the weather being typical Washington weather we didn’t go. Not because the wet would have bothered us but the hubby hasn’t been feeling well for a few days. Plus very little sleep then being out in the cold damp rain for more than eight hours was just not an option.

I’m going to try working on my novel Bewitched but one of the characters for the Forever Fey series has been talking to me. So we’ll see who is being the dominate one over the next couple days as that will decide if it is a new story that is worked on or if I get back to one that has been on the back burner for a bit.

The last week and a half has been a learning curve for me and it will be continuing for a bit. I am now working full time for a friend of mine. So things that I had never had to do while working the odd on-call hours for him I am having to learn as well as try and sort through and fix what the last person was just shuffling off to the side instead of doing her job. I am thankful that one of the guys is coming in and helping out with sorting the paperwork and getting things together that should be together. The other one is showing me how to input things into the specialty computer program that they have. I am having fun learning all the new things and my friend who owns the company is happy that he’s got a team willing to work together and we are doing things to hold everyone more accountable for what is done. I’ve even done some changes to his website to make certain things pop a bit more for him too. I think that was the part I liked the best so far. But I really enjoy changing up websites.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Fourth of July whatever you decide to do this coming weekend I hope that you all have fun and that everyone gets home safe.

Enjoy and... HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!! You’re 238 years young!!!

Wow this has been a long and crazy week! I am now working full-time for a friend of mine that owns a towing company. The really great thing is that to get to the office is only a five minute walk from my house. And I know on days where the office work is light I will be able to work on my writing over there so win-win on that front.

My husband had nationals this weekend in Edmonds. For those of you that don’t know he does Taekwondo and is presently a 1st degree blackbelt. He loves going and training and participating in the various tournaments and even takes different classes to help out doing different things. Like last weekend he took a class on how to do judging for sparring, forms and one-steps. He does all of this because he enjoys it.

Well little did we know that Grand Master Pierce was paying attention to all of that extra stuff as my husband does not train at Grand Master Pierce’s school. His instructor is Master Rhodes here in Skagit Valley where he gets some really good one-on-one training. But back to the point, Grand Master Pierce was paying attention and my hubby received a special certificate for extraordinary service and outstanding dedication to the association. I am so very proud of him and so glad that other people notice and acknowledge what an incredible and amazing man he is.

I also got some more carnivorous plants this weekend as well. We stopped at a place called The Plant Farm in Smokey Point and picked up a couple of Venus Fly Traps. We also picked up some heather that is from Scotland, and for those of you wondering yes there is a difference. lol For it is extra special to have that particular type of heather as it is the plant badge for the Clan Donald... my Scottish clan. I am a Donald by blood and a Campbell by marriage and in my opinion one can’t get much better than that. I also re-potted all of our strawberry plants and now have three containers of little baby plants. Can't wait to see how well they do though I know it will be a few years before they start bearing any fruit.

I wish you all a wonderful week and for those of you that will be in the Tacoma, WA area this coming Saturday the 28th of June come by Frontier Park in Graham and visit us at the Tacoma Scottish Highland Games. We will be there running the Clan Campbell tent plus I will be signing copies of my book for anyone that is looking to get a signed copy of The Proposal.

Cover Reveal ~ A Midnight Meeting

So a few weeks ago I did a sneak peek for you all of A Midnight Meeting. One of the Forever Fey stories. Well here is another peek to go along with it. Most of you know that I normally create my own covers. It just tends to be easier as my OCD about little things can drive others crazy. Thank the goddess that my friend Cyn gets me!

Here is the amazing cover that Cynthia (Cyn to me) of CCR Studio create for me. What do you think? I personally love it! I only gave her a vague idea of what I was picturing and it is almost as if she could see the same thing I was in my head.

Thank you so much Cyn! I look forward to working with you again!

Well this was a crazy weekend for me. Hence the reason, my blog being posted a day late. After a doctor’s appt on Friday that has caused me to go on a hunt for a special brace for my elbow because of a bad flare up from an old injury that occurred then I was 19! Had to order the brace no one in this little town carries what the doctor wanted me to have. Then a number of different appt’s on Saturday the real fun came on Sunday.

My husband and I drove down to a plant nursery (Sunnyside Nursery) that some friends told us about to get some fun plants. After doing that we came home and I went over to the same friend’s house to get the bog mix set up for the special plants. We are now the proud owners for five different carnivorous plants.

Four of them are Saracenia Hybrids (S.H.) and we got some other plants that are also natural flea repellants as well as my friend giving me starts from her garden of four different herbs. The carnivorous plants that we got are (back row) S.H. Flava + Oreophila, S.H. Complex Hyg, Saracena Leucophylla Tarnok and (front row) S.H. Flava + Alata purple, Saracenia Purpurea Venosa. They eat flies, hornets, yellow jackets and wasps. They do not bother honey bees which makes me happy. The fragrance that they give off attracts the ones they do eat.

To learn more you can check out the wholesale website that sells them and then check out the page they have telling where their plants can be obtained via retail. The company is called Courting Frogs Nursery. And thanks to checking out the page for retail locations I found one nursery that is local for us. So happy about that!
