Well this was a crazy weekend for me. Hence the reason, my blog being posted a day late. After a doctor’s appt on Friday that has caused me to go on a hunt for a special brace for my elbow because of a bad flare up from an old injury that occurred then I was 19! Had to order the brace no one in this little town carries what the doctor wanted me to have. Then a number of different appt’s on Saturday the real fun came on Sunday.

My husband and I drove down to a plant nursery (Sunnyside Nursery) that some friends told us about to get some fun plants. After doing that we came home and I went over to the same friend’s house to get the bog mix set up for the special plants. We are now the proud owners for five different carnivorous plants.

Four of them are Saracenia Hybrids (S.H.) and we got some other plants that are also natural flea repellants as well as my friend giving me starts from her garden of four different herbs. The carnivorous plants that we got are (back row) S.H. Flava + Oreophila, S.H. Complex Hyg, Saracena Leucophylla Tarnok and (front row) S.H. Flava + Alata purple, Saracenia Purpurea Venosa. They eat flies, hornets, yellow jackets and wasps. They do not bother honey bees which makes me happy. The fragrance that they give off attracts the ones they do eat.

To learn more you can check out the wholesale website that sells them and then check out the page they have telling where their plants can be obtained via retail. The company is called Courting Frogs Nursery. And thanks to checking out the page for retail locations I found one nursery that is local for us. So happy about that!

This is one of my favorite times of the year too, though the fall is my all time favorite season. I'm glad you liked post.
