Exciting Connections

This last week has been so incredibly amazing! Lots of great things happening at work, home life is wonderful, the dogs are both well… with the exception of Tala getting car sick on the way to Belfair. Lol But the wonderful thing this post is mainly about is I’ve made another family connection to David and Ragnhild!

For those of you that don’t know I have the first eight parts to my David and Ragnhild story posted here in my blog. To obtain the others you need to sign up for my newsletter and then let me know so that I can send you the back versions of the story if you are wanting to follow its progress.

What is so exciting for me is this particular connection is to Ragnhild! Yes you read that correctly to Ragnhild! I am just over the moon about this. Mr. G and I have been exchanging different information about our mutual lady. He is related to her through his wife and they currently reside in Budapest too.

So those following the story will know who little Hugo is. Ragnhild’s little brother who comes to her defense against a very spoiled cousin (this still makes me wonder if younger brothers are better than the older ones lol). Well his first wife Elisabeth that you all will meet soon is the connection between our Lady Ragnhild and Mr. G’s wife’s family.

Mr. G has been so incredibly amazing in sending me links that tell more about Lady Ragnhild and it is all just giving me a deeper insight into her and her life. I am truly thankful for all the amazing individuals that I have met while on this path and can’t imagine how many more that I may yet have the joy of meeting.

My life is so incredibly blessed and just becomes more so when I get the opportunity to make the acquaintance of people like Mr. G. I wish each and every one of you a joyous day and may someone new come into your world and bring you joy and insight.

Brightest Blessing.

Finally getting a chance to write the blog post today. It has been one of those type of days! lol I've been over at work three times today to release vehicles for people. I did take advantage of being there to put some finishing touches on the flowerbed that the boss let me put in. Some of these you all have seen before and others are brand new. A neighbor works for a local plant nursery and was giving away tons of plants. And a friend of mine brought me some lemon mint and oregano while the computer guy for work brought me some chocolate mint. As far as the mint goes now I have Mint, Pineapple Mint, Lemon Mint, and Chocolate Mint. I just need some Spearmint now. lol And on a wonderful note my amazing husband is working on building me a work table that will be eight feet long with a shelf at some point underneath it for storage. He's already put together some small trellises for some of the plants. I am so spoiled. :)

Let's talk Depression

Recently there have been numerous posts on Facebook about Robin Williams. While many people are truly distressed of his passing I could not help but notice that there were a few people that had very negative comments posted. While I can agree that suicide is not the answer being judgmental and stating that someone committing suicide will not go to heaven is just downright crass and makes people wonder about your humanity or lack thereof.
Not a single one of us can say with any certainty just why this wonderful actor/comedian chose to take his own life. The fact that he battled depression was not anything new he spoke of it on various occasions during interviews. Depression is a nasty thing and often makes one feel completely alone even then they are not.
Every person on this planet has suffered from a bout of depression a few times in their lives. But many do not understand the horrendous weight that descends upon another who battles depression on a daily basis. It is not something that one can just ‘get over it’, it is not that simple. Actual depression is not the feeling of sadness/devastation due to the loss of a loved one, the ending of a marriage, the loss of a home or job.
True depression is something that one fights every single day. Sometimes one just cannot continue the fight as they see any other way to stop the feeling of desolation that is consuming them from the inside out. Most of the time no one knows the distress that others are feeling partly because we really don’t want to know. They also don’t want to tell anyone because too many times when they have tried to talk to loved ones or friends it was not well received.
When one gets the response of “Oh just get over it”, “It’s time to move on”, “Stop beating a dead horse would you”, that person tends to stop confiding in those they were seeking help from. This makes the person with depression withdraw even more into themselves and that can become very dangerous.
I have had many friends lose family members to suicide and looking back they see where that loved one was reaching out for a helping hand and none were to be found. Within the last year I personally almost lost a dear childhood friend to this same disease. She was hospitalized for a while due to her attempt failing. I am thankful everyday that she did fail but I also understand on my own level the loss she suffered that drove her to do what she had done.
So please remember the next time that someone starts to tell you how sad they are or distressed they are about something actually LISTEN TO THEM. This means no running dialog in your head about how you are going to respond to them if that dialog is going then you are NOT listening. Before responding stop and think about what they said and if possible try to remember how many times they have said this to you before. Your response or lack thereof could mean the difference in seeing your friend or loved one as a viable living being again.
In this busy go-go world that we live in try to remember to stop and just appreciate those around you that even if you don’t see them often the thought of them puts a smile on your face. Reach out to them with a quick phone call, email, text, write a letter and just tell them you were thinking of them and are thankful they are in your life. This too can make all the difference in the world for how a person is feeling and potentially change the direction of their day for the better.
Brightest blessings to you and yours may the dark not seem so scary and may the light shine in those dark and frightening places for you to find peace. May the love of the Goddess fill you and help lighten the load that you carry every day.

                                                          Blessed Be.

ZZ Top and Jeff Beck in Concert

10/8/2014

Last night my husband and I went down to a local winery, Chateau St. Michelle, in Woodinville for an outdoor concert. We were eight rows back from the stage and right in the line of one of the big speakers. The music started at 6 p.m. with a young man named Tyler Bryant. He was on stage alone, just him, his guitars, and his pants that made me think of the '70's.

At 6:45 Jeff Beck took the stage. My husband was very happy about this and it was his fourth time seeing Jeff Beck live. For me this part was alright, I'm not all that into listening to just guitar riffs. Near the end of the set he did have someone that came out and sang a few songs but I didn't know any of them. Many people were rocking out to his whole set though.

At 8:15 ZZ Top took the stage and the whole crowd erupted. This was the part of the night that I was waiting for! At first the microphones didn't seem to be working very well for them but then it was sorted out and the show was amazing! And when their set was over they left but came back on stage with Jeff Beck in tow and played a few more songs for the crowd.

The crowd of people that were there ranged from old to young, people dressed in normal everyday clothes, others were dressed really nicely and some made you think of the flower power kids from the 60's.

The couple that sat just to the right of us were just lovely. Tacia (Tay-sha) and I had fun people watching before the show started and even a bit during the shows. And I just love the spelling of her name, I just know it's going to end up in one of my stories and I told her that too. There were two ladies that sat just to the left of us and the one was just funny after learning that Robert had already seen Jeff Beck three times before; I laughed when she told Robert, "You suck!"

It was our first time to ever be at the winery but the grounds, or what we saw of them, are just gorgeous. On our way in we passed a number of rows of grape vines that had little tiny grapes on them. A photo of the grapes is one of many that we took and below are just a few of the photos we managed to take with either our phones or the Samsung tablet that I had taken with us. One photo will look like it was just the lights with one to the right that is out of alignment with the others... that one on the right is actually the moon. :)
