I recently went to Bayview Cemetery and was taking photographs of some of the statues there. Here are my top 4 favorite ones of a particular angel that I think would be perfect as the cover image for Angel in Stone. Please leave me a comment telling me which image you like the best to help me decide which one to use. They do all look similar but there are slight changes in light and angles. :)

My husband and I recently went on a search for a local cemetery. It is back in the woods and not easy to find as there are no signs to help point you on your way. The cemetery is known as Mount Hope in Deming, Washington. It is up in the woods and very over grown, nature is taking it back.
We went in search of an obelisk grave marker that is said to be there and has Norse or Druidic markings on it. We did not find that particular marker on our first trip but we do plan on trying again. Next time hopefully the weather will be dry and sunny. We did see many other markers some even had fresh flowers or flags posted at them. One that had a flag was for a Mr. Frank Victor Clausen a Washington Fireman 2 CL 1897 – 1932. Since it is Memorial Day weekend seeing the flag as this man’s grave made me smile. It’s nice to know that despite his being gone for so many years there is still someone out there that is thinking of him. There was another grave that was a bit more disturbing than anything else. The marker just says Mother Frances E Shumway 1871 – 1928. While that in itself is not overly remarkable the fact that her grave marker was on what appeared to be freshly turned earth right next to another unmarked grave that was also freshly dug was disturbing. While there are a few photos here on my website I invite you to see the others on my Facebook page. If my husband and I manage to find the currently elusive obelisk marker I will post images of that one as well. |
