Happy New Year!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Xmas. I know that my husband and I did. We always enjoy going to our friends Ken and Jeri’s for dinner so many friends are there to celebrate the holidays and the feasting is amazing. I so love my brother-in-law Greg’s prime rib… it all but melts in your mouth. Everyone brings something to share with everyone else and no one is shy about getting seconds.

It was once again a very Doctor Who Xmas in this house. I got the hubster a new bathrobe that looks like the 4th Doctors jacket and scarf and he got me one that is the TARDIS. Lol He also got me a new blanket that is the TARDIS. Though I think my favorite gift from him is my new Kitchenaid mix master! I will finally be able to make my grandma’s sugar cookies! I also received some wonderful gifts from my inlaws a beautiful ceramic bread pan and a Bruins hockey jersey are the two favorites. Yes, I enjoy hockey and yes I am a Boston Bruins fan—so is my husband. We also enjoy going to watch the local team the Everett Silvertips play when we can.

I know that some of you are probably wondering why I would not have just made them any ways. Well, there was a time when I was a teenager that MY mother had the brilliant idea of saving time and doubling the batch for these sugar cookies. We almost killed her mix master doing that. It caused us to hand mix this dough and that is just something I do not want to ever do again. Doing that once was more than enough for me.

The next holiday is New Years. I truly hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time in whatever manner you choose to celebrate. Please remember to drive safely if you go out and about and may 2015 bring everyone joy, contentment and blessings.
