Scottish Concerts and Chickens

This has been a long, fun and interesting weekend. Friday night my husband and I had the joy of spending the evening with a number of wonderful friends at Benaroya Hall in Seattle to a Masters of the Scottish Arts Concert. This is an annual event that the Celtic Arts Foundation puts on during their Winter School.

They fly in people that are masters within their respective instruments such as Scottish Highland Pipes, Small Pipes, Tenor/Snare/Bass drums, and Fiddles. These are the instructors for the Winter School and the concerts that they put on are absolutely incredible. One of my favorite people to watch each year at this concert is Tyler Fry, he plays the tenor drum and to call him amazing is far too mild a term. This young man is extremely accomplished and so very talented. He travels and plays with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers out of Scotland.

To learn more about Winter School, the Masters of the Scottish Arts Concerts or just the Celtic Arts Foundation itself just go out to their website at celticarts.org. These are also the folks that put on the Skagit Highland Games events each year the second full week of July.
Yesterday I had an auction to deal with at work and then the husband and I headed to Everett to get our taxes out of the way and done for the year. The fun part was going to Everett Comics and seeing what they had that was new. Yes, I like to go into comic book stores… well a few select ones any ways and Everett Comics is one the best in opinion.

I bet at this point you are all wondering about the chicken comment in the title. Well, I don’t blame you for wondering. I have two neighbors that have chickens and it seems that I have become a chicken wrangler. lol One has quite a few and they normally stay within their own yard but there have been a few times that they have ventured down along my fence line and gotten into my front yard. While I don’t mind this I do worry that they will get out into the street in front of my house and get hit by a car. So I go out and get them headed back home. Today the other neighbors’ two chickens somehow escaped their yard and were wandering about in mine. Once again I headed out to wrangle chickens though my poor husband had to help this time.

I hope that all of you are having a wonderful weekend and may it be free of chicken wrangling. lol

Blessed Be Everyone

Sounds like a great way to spend an evening. Great to discover your blog. My heart belongs in the Isles as well.
